Delete your BingerTime account
Last updated : 5 September 2026
Your BingerTime account is yours. You can delete it yourself, at any time, without writing to us and without giving a reason. Deletion is immediate and permanent.
How to do it, in three steps
- Open BingerTime and go to the Profile tab, then the Account tab.
- Scroll to Delete my account and enter your password. If you sign in with Apple or Google, leave the field empty.
- Tap Permanently delete my account and confirm. Your account and your data are erased right away.
1. From the app
This is the quickest route, and it is the same on Android, iPhone, iPad and the web: Profile → Account → Delete my account.
Your password is asked for again so that an unattended phone is not enough to wipe your library. Accounts created with “Sign in with Apple” or “Sign in with Google” have no password: leave the field empty, the current session is proof enough.
No email confirmation is needed, and there is no cooling-off period: once you confirm, it is done.
2. If you no longer have the app
Write to contact@bingertime.com from your account’s email address, asking for it to be deleted. We handle the request within 30 days at most, and in practice much sooner.
We will never ask for your password by email. If your account’s address is no longer reachable, say so: we will find another way to confirm it is really you.
3. What is deleted
Everything, immediately. Deletion removes your account from our database, and with it:
- your email address, username, display name, password and avatar;
- your libraries of TV shows, movies, games and books, with your entire history: watched episodes and films, dates, rewatches, ratings, hours played and reading progress;
- your comments, reactions, chat messages and the photos you sent in them;
- your friendships, friend requests, book loans and reports;
- your badges, statistics and preferences;
- your session tokens and, where applicable, your devices’ notification tokens.
Nothing is set aside “just in case”, and there is no deactivated account waiting to be restored: the account simply stops existing. Deletion cannot be undone — we will not be able to give your data back afterwards, even if you ask.
4. What remains, and for how long
Server backups. Our database backups may hold a trace of your account until they rotate. They are never read for any purpose other than recovering from an incident, and they age out on their own.
Accounting records. If you subscribed to Premium, our payment provider — Stripe, Google Play or the App Store, depending on your purchase — keeps a record of the transaction to meet its own accounting and tax obligations. We have no control over it, and those records hold no part of your library: only an amount, a date and a transaction identifier. Your card details never passed through our servers in the first place.
Your subscription. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription bought on the Play Store or the App Store. Cancel it from your app store’s subscription settings, otherwise it will keep being charged.
5. Taking your data with you
If you want to keep a copy of your years of watching, export them before deleting the account: the export is free, with no subscription required, and hands you all of your data as JSON. It sits in the same place, under Profile → Account.
You can also erase only part of your activity without touching the account: removing a title from your libraries, deleting a comment or a message is done where it appears.
